Did you know that by the age of three, almost 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some form of gum disease? If left untreated for long periods of time, chronic infections in the mouth can lead to infections of other body organs.

Why not make dental health a year round focus? Schedule a dental cleaning within 30 days of having Wellness Labwork done and save 10% — YEAR ROUND!

To prevent oral disease in your dog or cat consider following these three steps:

  1. Begin a life-long home dental care program. Ideally, we would begin to care for our pets' teeth early in life, but it's never too late to start.

  2. Make sure your pet has a physical exam with dental exam performed by a veterinarian at least once a year.

  3. Schedule a dental cleaning and comprehensive oral health assessment under general anesthesia for your pet if recommended by the veterinarian. It is impossible to do a thorough oral exam on an animal that is wide awake.

Don't forget to stop by East Towne Veterinary Clinic during February 2015 and pick up your pet's FREE Dental Health Care Kit.
