Kelly Kasum, DVM

Chief of Staff

A North Shore native, Dr. Kelly Kasum ("Dr. Kelly") grew up in Fox Point and attended Dominican High School. After earning an undergraduate degree in biology from St. Norbert College, she went on to pursue her doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Kelly has practiced general small animal medicine and surgery in Rockford, IL, Dubuque, IA, Grafton, WI, and now Mequon, WI. She resides with her two kids, husband, and pets (cats, frog, and parakeets) in Cedarburg.

In her spare time, Dr. Kasum enjoys wilderness canoe camping, strength training, yoga, and lots of reading. She also enjoys doing podcasts and you can listen to her latest podcasts HERE!

Dr. Kasum would like all pet owners to understand that despite all of our modern technology, the very best screening test is still a good thorough yearly (at least!) physical exam. Gradually developing change in weight that easily goes unnoticed, chronically painful fractured teeth, small tumors, and many other slowly developing conditions may not be evident to owners, but can easily be detected during a pet's physical exam. Pets naturally try to hide illnesses, a once very useful survival instinct. All too often this means that chronic diseases in our pets go undetected for far longer than a similar condition would in a person.
